RN Clinical Practice Supervisor Emergency Dept. Full Time Evening
POSITION SUMMARY:
In a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, The Clinical Practice Supervisor contributes professional and clinical nursing expertise to ensure the delivery of high quality nursing care to specific patient populations within the Valley Health System. The role of the Clinical Practice Supervisor advances the profession of nursing and encompasses: Expert clinical practice Expert guidance and coaching of patients and families and other healthcare providers Consultation/Collaboration Research and Evidence Based Practice (EBP) Leadership (clinical, professional, and systems) * The Clinical Practice Supervisor Works with staff to influence, guide, direct and develop clinical and professional nursing skills. The role requires the setting of measurable goals and objectives within a framework of current evidence-based practice to: Assist in development of optimal treatment plans Facilitate optimal outcomes for patients and their families Ensure overall continuity of care across the health system * The Clinical Practice Supervisor will provide immediate supervision to the Patient Care Associates in the Emergency Department. * Will maintain the schedule and monitor time and attendance for the PCAs * Will maintain and ensure competence for the PCAs * Will complete evaluations for the PCA staff in the Emergency Department * Will interview applicants for the PCA position in the Emergency Department using behavior-based interview practice to ensure that the best candidates are hired into the organization.
EDUCATION:
Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in New Jersey. Baccalaureate degree in health care or related field; Master of Science in Nursing preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in adult education principles preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing practice experience, primarily in area of specialty.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply nursing process toward achievement of specific outcomes in an organized fashion which addresses patient/family satisfaction. Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving. Participation in pertinent professional and/or specialty organizations preferred.
