ED Registration Supervisor Full Time Night
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Patient Access Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of all outpatient functions and serves as the liaison between the PAC and the facility. The Patient Access Supervisor integrates the department’s services with the hospital’s primary functions, develops/implements policies and procedures that guide or support service, assesses and improves department performance, and ensures orientation and continuing education of departmental staff. The Supervisor will be responsible for the oversight and coordination of functions within the Patient Access department relating to pre-registration, registration and hospital admissions. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to patient registration, financial collections, insurance verification and the dissemination of information. The Supervisor provides direct support to the Manager and/or Director in all areas of the PAC to ensure optimum performance by departmental personnel, registration accuracy, accurate financial collections and optimal customer satisfaction.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience within hospital/healthcare business operations with at least three (3) years in a significant healthcare management/leadership position.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Registration, financial counseling, financial clearance and insurance verification/authorization process within a hospital setting. Ability to continuously assess& patient volumes in each area to prioritize the delegation of work and stabilize unforeseen fluctuations in work flows. To serve as a resource to other departments regarding registration, patient advocates, financial clearance and/or insurance verification related issues. Will provide and maintain effective communication with medical staff, community, patients, internal and external associates. Necessary to have strong computer and communication skills.
