POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Outpatient Developmental/Behavioral or Neurodevelopmental Pediatrician to join our growing practice.

The Valley Hospital in Paramus, NJ

Situated less than 15 miles from Manhattan, Paramus is in the heart of Bergen County, one of the most desirable counties in the United States, with excellent schools, numerous recreational and cultural activities. Its proximity to New York City allows for easy access to everything the city has to offer or live in New York City and enjoy a simple reverse commute. With the opening of our new $975 million, 370 bed acute care hospital on April 14, 2024, The Valley Health System continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing exceptional, world class care to the 1.1 million residents of our catchment area.

Position Description:

Valley Medical Group | Valley-Mount Sinai Children ‘s Service, at The Kireker Center for Child Development, https://www.valleyhealth.com/services/kireker-center-child-development


The Developmental Pediatrics program provides consultation and other professional services as part of the Valley Medical Group and Valley-Mount Sinai Children ‘s Service line in northern New Jersey. This provider would join 2 other experienced developmental to provide clinical expertise in the evaluation and management of childhood development, behavioral and psychosocial issues. In addition, physician in this role will provide outreach to interested community groups, including schools, childcare programs, parent groups, and help support our broader community based services for the special needs population.

Clinical requirements include ability to obtain a comprehensive neurodevelopmental/neurobehavioral history, including a pertinent medical history for pediatric patients, perform a neurodevelopmental/neurobehavioral evaluation and support the Medical Director of Developmental/ Pediatrics and the Clinical Director of the Kireker Center for Child Development (KCCD) in NJ. Providers in this role will also participate in Department of Pediatrics activities, Center, and Hospital Committee meetings as deemed appropriate by the Director.

In this position you will be part of a larger multi-specialty group including experienced providers in Endocrinology, Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Pulmonary medicine, Food Allergy, Cardiology and PM&R, all in collaboration with Mount Sinai Kravis Children ‘s Hospital and the Mount Sinai Health System. The KCCD offers a broad spectrum of services including speech, physical and occupation therapy. A complete audiology service is also available on-site at the KCCD. Academic appointments at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital are possible based on previous academic ranking and productivity.

Full Time, Monday to Friday, with an anticipated call schedule

EDUCATION:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
An MD/DO or equivalent degree
Board eligible or certified in Developmental/Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities
Existing or Eligibility for New Jersey Medical License, DEA and CDS required
Maintains CME credit hours as required for Board Certification and/or hospital staff privileges.
EXPERIENCE:
