Mammography Tech Full Time Day
POSITION SUMMARY:
To perform mammographic imaging procedures and evaluate mammograms, breast ultrasound scans, and chest x-rays.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program required. Associate Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of two years of experience as a mammography technologist required.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Registered Radiologic Technologist.NJDEP and ARRT license required. ARRT Advanced Certification in Mammography required. CME credits current to date required. Physical dexterity to operate sensitive electronic radiologic equipment to produce radiographs and perform tests on patients. Knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and risk factors. Effective interaction and communication (oral, writing, presenting) skills. Ability to perform work accurately and pay attention to details, changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and changing work environment related to changing patient needs. Ability to work cooperatively within the health-system, and with patients, family members, co-workers, and multidisciplinary team members (i.e., physicians, Patient Care Services staff members, etc.). Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Ability to use analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively problem-solve.
